Natalie Stalmach | Women of Impact 2025

Featured in 360West, our Chief Development Officer was honored as a Woman of Impact 2025! Court Appointed Special Advocates of Tarrant County is an organization of volunteer advocates who stand up on behalf of abused and neglected children because they want them to have a brighter future. Currently we have more than 400 dedicated community volunteers. However, there are still about 500 kids each year waiting for a CASA, because there aren’t enough volunteers to meet the demands of the child welfare system.

Important Update: National CASA/GAL Announcement

Today April 24, National CASA/GAL announced that “in accordance with the termination notices, has to suspend all services and support funded by OJJDP (Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention)…”

While this news was devastating for National CASA/GAL, which serves 174,000 children across 900 program offices annually with the help of 47,000 volunteers, CASA of Tarrant County does not currently receive direct financial support from National CASA/GAL. Federal funding received by CASA of Tarrant County is distributed by Texas CASA and is not currently at risk, but as always, this is subject to change.

However, the mission and work of CASA of Tarrant County remains unchanged: striving to help support the ever-growing number of children in our area who are in foster care or have experienced abuse or neglect. And now more than ever, visit our page to find out more about ways you can support our work, whether financially or by attending our next Information Session on how to become a CASA volunteer.

CASA comes to Azle

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and Court Appointed Special Advocates hope to make it known in Azle.

CASA of Tarrant County connects trained volunteers with abused children to help represent and support them through the legal system. Each year, CASA and partnering organizations place blue pinwheel installations around the county to raise awareness of child abuse prevention. There will be four pinwheel locations this year in the city of Azle: Reata West Apartments, The Azle Lion’s Club, Tator Club Daycare and Servolution Headquarters.
