Join us for an informative PMC Session & Panel
We are also offering the same session on March 2nd at Lunch Bunch. You only need to sign up for one.

Children most at-risk of aging out of foster care are in permanent managing conservatorship (PMC) of the state, meaning they never did find permanency or a family after their initial 12-18 months in temporary managing conservatorship (TMC). There are currently close to 400 foster children in Tarrant County in PMC status who don't have a CASA volunteer, leaving them at-risk to age out of foster care. They need extra attention and creativity to find permanency and family, and as advocates, you can make the difference for a child and prevent them from aging out!

Do you have a passion for children at-risk of aging out of foster care? Have you ever wanted to advocate for or work with teenagers? In 2018, CASA will be working with more children in permanent managing conservatorship (PMC) to help find family and prevent them from aging out. These children tend to be older, have fewer court hearings, and need someone to advocate for them now more than ever. This training will explain what advocacy for children in PMC looks like.

If you've ever been interested in advocating for children in PMC, older children, or children at-risk of aging out, please attend to find out more about how to speak up for this vulnerable population! Even if you are in the middle of your current case and aren't able to take on another, we'd love to have you come learn with us about these children and how we can specialize our advocacy to improve their outcomes. Hope to see you there!
