Board Spotlight: Dr. Diane Arnaout
For Dr. Diane Arnaout, supporting children is both a profession and a passion.
As a pediatrician with Cook Children’s Pediatrics and a member of CASA of Tarrant County’s Board of Directors, Dr. Arnaout has dedicated her career to caring for children and believes deeply in ensuring their voices, needs and rights are valued.
“As a pediatrician, I believe that children deserve all the care, resources and respect that we give adults, if not more,” she shared. “That is why I am involved in supporting an organization that provides hope to kids whose worlds may feel like they’re crumbling, to offer a strong foundation of support.”
Dr. Arnaout first became involved with CASA after her neighbor, John Gerdes, told her about the opportunity to give back to the community through the organization. Since then, she has continued to be inspired by the impact CASA makes for children and families across Tarrant County.
“I enjoy re-visiting the absolutely vital work that CASA does for these kids and for our community,” she said.
For Dr. Arnaout, that work is especially important because children experiencing foster care may not always have the ability or opportunity to advocate for themselves.
“CASA represents positive change in our community by advocating loudly for those who may have the smallest voices,” she said. “It is up to us to maintain this vital and important organization in order to represent the needs and rights of our youngest community members.”
And to those considering supporting CASA, her message is simple: “Thank you for considering what I believe to be one of the most important resources for child advocacy in Tarrant County.”
Dr. Arnaout also has a special message for the volunteers who show up month after month to advocate for children:
“When a child feels like everything around them is sinking, it can be world-changing to have someone reach an arm down to help lift them up. Thank you for your time, effort and huge heart, and for making a huge difference in a child’s life.”
We are grateful to Dr. Diane Arnaout for lending her voice, expertise and heart to CASA of Tarrant County and for helping build a community where every child has someone standing up for them.
