Tarrant County began an Adoption Day event in 2000 as part of the National Adoption Day celebration. National Adoption Day has grown from nine events in its first year to almost 400 events in U.S. cities in 2014. Every year, more than 100,000 children in foster care are available for adoption. Many spend more than five years waiting for permanent, loving homes. Between 2000 and 2015, more than 54,500 children were joined together with their forever families as part of National Adoption Day activities. 

Tarrant County's Adoption Day event continues to grow and each year creates new forever families for deserving children.
